Use the Library to Become a “Happy Lawyer”

On March 18th, Professor Marc Poirier from Seton Hall Law School spoke here about “Mindfulness Meditation.”  During his talk, Professor Poirier demonstrated two exercises:

  • Mental Body Scanning – used to identify stresses felt in various parts of the body
  • Counting breaths in quiet stillness – to relieve stress and guard against distraction

I can’t think of a better place to practice these exercises than some of the quiet corners of the law library.  For further reading on this topic, check out some of these sources:
